DCP Stage 2 Water Restrictions

                  STAGE 2 DROUGHT CONTINGENCY PLAN IS NOW IN EFFECT

The District Manager of the Nuece County WCID#3 has determined that the District has entered in Stage 2 of the Drought Contingency Plan.

Customers shall be required to comply with the requirements and restrictions on certain non-essential water uses as laid out in the District's Water Contingency Plan. The Drought Contingency Plan in its entirety may be reviewed on our website @www.nueceswater3.com or our office at 501 East Main in Robstown, TX. Stage 2 Response-MODERATE Water Shortage Conditions

Under Stage 2, District will:

1. Achieve a 20% reduction in daily treated water demand relative to treated water demand with the water use restriction below. An additional surcharge will be added to each utility bill during Stage 2 water shortage conditions.
2. Use more repair crews if necessary, to allow for a quicker response time for water-line leak repair.
3. District crews begin monitoring customers' compliance with Stage 2 restrictions during the course ot their daily rounds.
4. Eliminate the flushing of water mains unless required for decatamination and/or public safety; and
5. Review customer's water usage for compliance based on the previous month's water usage.

Under Stage 2, water customers will:

Under threat of penalty for violation, the following water use restrictions shall apply to all persons:

1. Irrigation of landscaped areas with hose-end sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems shall be limited to Sundays and Thursdays for customers with a street adddress ending in an even number (0,2,4,6, or 8), and Saturdays and Wednesdays for water customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1,3,5,7,or 9), and irrgation of landscaped areas is further limited to the hours of 12:00 midnight untill 10:00 a.m. and between 8:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight on designated watering days. However, irrigation of landscaped areas is permitted at any time if it ois by meand of hand-held hose, a faucet filled bucket or watering can of five (5) gallons or less, or drip irrigation system
2. .b.Use of water to wash any motor vehicle, motorbike, boat,trailer,airplane or vehicle is prohibited except on designated watering days between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 10:00 a.m. and between 8:00 p.m and 12:00 midnight. Such washing, when allowed, shall be done with a hand -held hose equipped with a positive shutoff nozzle for quick rises. Vehicle washing may be done at any time on the immediate permised of a commercial car wash or commercial service station. Further, such washing may be exempted from these requlations if the health, safety, and welfare of the public id contingent upon frequent vehicle cleansing, such as garbage trucks and vehicles used to transport food and perishables.
3. Use of water to fill, refill, or add to any indoor or outdoor swimming pools, wading pools, or Jacuzzi-type pools is prohibited except on designated water days between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 10:00 a.m and between the 8:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight.
4. Operation of any ornamental fountain or pind for aesthetic or scenic purposes is prohibited except where necessary to support aquatic life or where such fountains or ponds are equipped with a recirculation system.
5. Use of water from hydrants shall ne imited for firefighting, relaed activities or other activities necessary to maintain public health, safety, and welfare, except that use of water from designated fire hydrants for construction purposes may be allowed under specialpermit.
6. Use of water for irrigation of golf course greens, tees, and fairways is prohibited except on designated watering days between the hours 12:00 midnight and 10:00 a.m and between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight, However, if the golf course utilizes a water source other than that provided by the District, the facility shall not be subject to these regulations.
7. All restaurants are prohibited from serving water to patrons except upon request of the patron
8. .The following uses of water are defined as non-essential and are prohibited:          Wash down of any sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots, tennis courts, or     other hard surfaced areas;

             Use of water to wash down buildings or sturctures for purposes other than                          immediate fire protection;

              Use of water for dust control;

              Flushing gutters or permitting water to run or accumulate in any gutter or street;                and

              Failure to repair a controllable leak (s) within a reasonable period after having been notice directing the repair of such leak (s).
